Facilitation Questions

1) Did we ever feel that the Lord is demanding from us?
  • What happened?
  • How did you feel?
  • How did you recover?
2) March 12th 2017 Sermon References
  • Luke 10:38-42 (Mary & Martha) Mary drew from the Lord, as a result at the right time, she was the only one who prepared him for burial. Note that she was not present at the tomb, she believed that He would rise again. In order for us to be good servers, we must draw from Jesus. He would not let anyone take that away from Mary, neither will He let anyone take that away from you. From this drawing, out of the overflow, will be the grace and anointing to serve.
  • Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man came not to have service rendered to Him, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for (instead of) many.
  • Exodus 21:1-6 The law of the Servant
  • Luke 9:51 Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, ( Jesus can go to heaven, His time was up. Like the servant in Exodus 21. Instead, He chose to go to Jerusalem for the final time )
  • 1 Chronicles 17:10 ... Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the Lord will build you a house.

3) What happens when you allow the Lord to serve you?

4) Knowing we have nothing to offer, we become the best servers when we receive from Him.

5) All of us are good receivers who allow the Lord to serve us!

The Anointing Within

John 14:26 New King James Version (NKJV)

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Its interesting to see the word Helper here is the Greek word parakletos. Which in different versions of the bible is translated Comforter, Helper, Advocate and Counselor.

From the Amplified, Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby). The notes says Gr Paracletos, one called alongside to help.

Also from the Amplified, The Holy Spirit is sent by Abba in place of Jesus, to represent Jesus and act on Jesus' behalf. His role is to function as Jesus. SO, the Holy Spirit is with us as if Jesus is with us though not bodily.

The Holy Spirit teaches us ALL things and reminds us of all things that Jesus said to us.

This is our reality,
That the Holy Spirit our Helper, will teach us ALL things..
English, Chinese, Maths, Science, Arts, Relationships, Finances, Health, How to clear a toilet, etc etc...
AND at any time, He will bring to our remembrance all things that He has taught us before...
SO, whenever we need help, at work, during our exams, our Helper will remind us all of the things we learnt before.

Praise the Lord, He lives in me.

Trust in God's Goodness

Mark 11:22 (NKJV)
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God.

John 14:14 (NKJV)
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

John 16:23 (NKJV)
“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

Read those 3 verses like this:-
Have faith in God. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

Hallelujah! See how much Jesus wants to encourage us and give us confidence.
I feel Him speaking to us as if wanting us to lay all our cards on the table. Did I say cards? I meant cares.

Lets be open, daring to trust His love, His goodness.
Remember what He said to King David in 2 Samuel 12:7-8
‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping, and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more!

God shall surely supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Jesus. Philippians 4:19

From Praise Comes Breakthrough!

I was curious about the genealogy of Jesus during the last few weeks. Looking through some scripture, I realised that the birth of Jesus had some "close calls" if you look at it naturally. Of particular interest was Judah because Jesus is called the "Lion of Judah".

I was wondering which son of Judah did Jesus come from because if Jesus is the Lion "of Judah", it may be interesting to discover which son "of Judah" He came from.

To my surprise, it wasn't Judah's immediate sons, because the first was a bad guy and was killed, the second son refused to raise an heir for his older brother and was killed, the third son of Judah was too young and was never given to his eldest brother's wife Tamar.

Tamar, conceived her twin boys from Judah himself! Read more about it from Gen 38:6 onwards.

The son "of Judah" whom Jesus descended from was Perez. Nothing interesting there until you look at the meanings of the names.

Judah means Praise
Perez means Breakthrough

The son of Praise is Breakthrough! From Praise Comes Breakthrough! Go ahead, Praise the Lord!

Redeemed from the Curse of the Law.

God has promised us an abundant life (John 10:10). So how come the manifestation doesn't seem to come forth in certain areas?

For some, its healing, for others its prosperity and for still others its relationships. But all these things are part of an abundant life now. The bible says that Godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. (1 Tim 4:8).

So then, either God is a liar or these circumstances are just not lined up with His Word, which is Truth. There were some circumstances in the bible that were not fruitful, one was the fig tree which Jesus cursed. It didn't wither on the spot but it did the next day.

Therefore, we can say to our circumstances, "No man suffer from you again" in the same way Jesus said, "No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever". (Mark 11:14). It follows on in Mark 11:21 when Peter called attention to it the next morning and Jesus answered with Mark 11:23. That we shall have whatsoever we say.

I'd like to take it one step further...

According to Deuteronomy 28 and verse 44, loans are a curse of the law but according to Galatians 3:13 and 14, Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is anyone who hangs on a tree"), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Because Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law, and loans, lack and poverty are all mentioned as curses of the law according to Deut. 28, we can confess that we are redeemed from loans, lack and poverty! Hallelujah, we are above the loans, lack and poverty, we are the head and not the tail! Give praise to our Abba Father because your redemption and salvation is near you even in your mouth. Speak it out!

Effects of the Law

The bible says that the strength of sin is the Law. 1 Cor 15:55.

Here's an illustration of how that works.

Its paid, Sin is done away with!

Some time ago, I borrowed $5000 from Peter. I could not pay him back for many months. Little did I know that John paid Peter my debt on my behalf. In fact, John paid Peter $50,000 and told Gabriel to tell me. Then John went overseas.

I just could not bring myself to call Peter or return his SMS because I still couldn't pay. Gabriel told me something to the effect that John mentioned the money that I owed Peter. Man, that made me so stressed! Now John was even telling other friends that I owed Peter money. My life was so bad and I was having serious panic attacks at the time.

Then one day at church, Joseph told me that actually before John had left, he had already over paid Peter for my debt! I couldn't believe it! John was my absolute, bestest friend in the whole wide world! I was so happy and relieved!

It was about 9 months before I learned the truth! All that time, I was suffering for nothing! All the stress, worry, condemnation, for what? Nothing! I just didn't know that my debt was paid. In fact, all that time Peter was trying to call me and sms me, he was trying to tell me as well about what John did but I was so scared, I avoided him. If Gabriel had passed me the message clearly and if I believed Gabriel, I would not have avoided Peter.

I could not undo what John had done. Whether I believed it or not, whether I knew it or not, it didn't change the fact that my debt was paid. When I realised what John had done, my love for Him grew and grew.

Pastor has used this illustration many times.
  • Peter represents the Law,
  • John represents Jesus,
  • Gabriel represents an ineffective messenger,
  • Joseph represents an effective messenger.
The sacrifice of the Holy, Perfect and Beloved Son of God was so complete, so perfect that God only required Jesus to die once for all of the sins committed by everyone, everybody, everywhere. Past, present and future. Whether we believe it or not, whether we know it or not, it doesn't change the fact that Jesus paid for our sins. He paid with His own blood.

That is what Hebrews 10:11-14 means. Jesus sacrifice is effective for ALL time. It takes away ALL sins for ALL times, past, present and future.

Hebrews 10:11-14 (Amplified Version)

11Furthermore, every [human] priest stands [at his altar of service] ministering daily, offering the same sacrifices over and over again, which never are able to strip [from every side of us] the sins [that envelop us] and take them away--

12Whereas this One [Christ], after He had offered a single sacrifice for our sins [that shall avail] for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

13Then to wait until His enemies should be made a stool beneath His feet.(A)

14For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.

Praise be to our Lord Jesus because by His one sacrifice, He has completely set us free from all sins.
